SGM manufactures a range of Silicon Iron components for automotive and industrial solenoid applications. The material gives an excellent combination of soft magnetic properties with the added benefit of high resistivity. Typically, in excess of 98% theoretical density is achieved, giving mechanical properties comparable with wrought material.
In response to the desires of major automotive clients in the diesel industry, SGM has developed the ability to vary the amount of silicon, and tailor the properties of a component to match the magnetic requirements of an application.
